The Kensington Elementary preschool program exists to provide educational support to preschoolers who receive special education services. Due to the small size of enrollment, Kensington Elementary does not have an in-house preschool program. Our students are supported by our community partners to ensure that they are educated in a setting and environment that matches their learning needs. Our community partners include, but are not limited to:

  • Exeter Day School - 11 Marlboro Street, Exeter, NH
  • Exeter Developmental Preschool - 13 School Street, Exeter, NH
  • Great Bay Kids Company - 64 Epping Road, Exeter, NH
  • Wright Start Preschool at Seacoast School of Technology - 40 Linden Street, Exeter, NH
  • Kidlogic - 14 Powwow River Road, East Kingston, NH
  • Nurture and Nature - 171 Exeter Road, Newfields, NH

What if I’m concerned about my child’s learning and development? Does my child need support to learn?

If you have a concern regarding your preschoolers’ learning and education, please contact Karen Ringuette.

Educating preschoolers in an early childhood setting is consistent with the goal of the NH Department of Education’s Indicator 6 "Preschool Children in the General Education Setting”, which commits to educating children with specialized needs in the least restrictive environment.

All students are screened using the The Early Screening Inventory-Third Edition. Families will complete a caregiver questionnaire prior to the screening. The purpose of the screening is to determine if the concerns present a risk to learning and to refer for a formal evaluation if needed. Screenings are not an evaluation and are not used to determine eligibility for special education.
