2012-2013 Great Stone Face Award

Great Stone Face Book Award

The Great Stone Face Book Award is sponsored by the Children's Librarians of New Hampshire (CHILIS) and is given each year to an author whose book receives the most votes from fourth through sixth graders throughout the state. Each year a committee chooses 25 recently published titles, which children then use as a guide for voting.

The 2012-13 nominee list has been compiled and all the books are available for kids to read.

2012 Caldecott, Coretta Scott King and Newbery Awards

The 2012 Caldecott, Coretta Scott King and Newbery Awards were announced by the American Library Association  in January. The winners in each category are:

Newbery Award:   Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos

Caldecott Award: A Ball for Daisy by Chris Raschka

Coretta Scott King Award: Heart and Soul: The Story of America and African Americans by Kadir Nelson
